DigitalSpace Corporation Licensee/Member: Dean Strik
DEAN STRIK is a computer science student at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. He is employed part-time there at the university's Unix Services group.
The last couple of years, Dean has been in charge of the system administration group of MCGV Stack (Micro Computer Users Association), a students association for people with interest and passion for computers of all sorts. He has been a member of the association's board for two years, the first as president.
Online, Dean can be found under the aliases 'Fluxen' and 'Matroid'. His 'home virtual environment' is the 1995 text-based MUD OuterSpace, not coincidentally hosted at MCGV Stack. More recently, he can be found on the development MUD Anarres II. He hasn't been active on ActiveWorlds and similar environments for quite a while, but hopes to make a return soon.
Dean has been working with the DigitalSpace Corporation since April 2002, where he administers the Unix systems of the California server farm, and manages the DNS and Unix webservices.
He takes an interest in networking technologies and protocols, including host ATM networking, IP version 6 and SCTP (Stream Control Tranmission Protocol), a transport-level protocol that can be used as an alternative to TCP e.g. in multimedia environments.
You can find Dean's personal homepage at http://www.ipnet6.org/ or send him email at dean@ipnet6.org.
