DigitalSpace Commons launches on February 10, 2003

March 14: DigitalSpace produces the first technical progress report for SBIR Phase 1 ISS/PSA work

April 2: OWorld.org, the open worlds community project was the recipient of the first open source code release from the DigitalSpace Commons. This release includes virtually all of DigitalSpace's Java work since 2000 on Meet3D, Meet2D, extensions to the VNET server, a shared whiteboard and MeetingPage implementation. See these projects described at this page OWorld partners who will be extending this codebase include the University of Washington (Department of Oceanography). April 3: DigitalSpace awarded a new project with USRA/RIACS to continue work on virtual analog Mars habitats SimHab/BrahmsVE (FMARS/MDRS).

May 1: DigitalSpace Commons introduces a new version of its Traveler virtual worlds & communities platform

May 14: DigitalSpace produces second technical progress report for SBIR Phase 1 ISS/PSA work

June 17: DigitalSpace delivers second interim progress report on the SBIR Phase 1 ISS/PSA work.

July 14: DigitalSpace Commons submits to NASA its Final Report on SBIR Phase 1: SimHab/BrahmsVE: Proof of Concept for Human/Agent Intelligent Augmentation

Aug 27: DigitalSpace Commons to test TalkSpace at the desert art festival Burning Man giving Burning Man attendees voice access from the Black Rock Desert of northern Nevada via satellite. TalkSpace will also be employed by the BBC to communicate with World Service Radio in London and tested on a mobile robot as a voice interface.

Sept 2003: DigitalSpace Commons to introduce independent Internet voice network based on its TalkSpace platform.
