Rendition of a Seattle Bookstore
to Support an on-line Reader's Book Club
store designed by Titan's Guild
The concept in this project is to use on-line virtual worlds, the great grandchildren
of on-line chat environments, to host a reader's book club. What better book to start with
than Bruce Damer's book Avatars! which is a starter
kit for virtual worlds users. The following are scenes from a book club
meeting hosted in an actual 3D virtual bookstore online. The book store was
modeled on the downtown Seattle Borders Books and Music store.
The store has many features, such as live connections between books and
their equivalent web pages. So authors can be met here and books can be
purchased by driving the web-based ordering sheets. You can even meet the
proprietor of the virtual book store!
