Yuri's Night, World Space Party
NASA's Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, CA
Bruce Damer's talk at 9pm will be on: Avatars, Life, The Universe and Everything.
Avatars and the worlds they inhabit may be the key to the future of life on Earth, in Space, and the remaking of our species. James Cameron's film Avatar shows us a future where we could be transformed in body and spirit, and inhabit verdant virtual worlds back in our tribal roots, wiser and kinder than our materialistic mechanistic ancestors. In the first decade of the 21st Century we can just catch a glimpse of the bits and pieces of how this might be made manifest: cyberspace, virtual worlds, digital design space for NASA, Augmented Reality, and the Evolution Grid project.
